Welcome to NH Holiday.com. It’s great to see you here at the site. This is a personal blog of my experience up on the north side of Lake Winnipesaukee. I’ll talk about things to do, sights to see and places to eat and drink. New Hampshire is a lovely state, covered from north to south with some of the great natural lands in America. Miles of forest, steep mountain peaks, mirror smooth lakes and freezing cold, clear mountain streams. Yet, it’s so close to the major cities of Boston and New York, hundreds of thousands come to enjoy it every year. For that reason, so many things have been developed for people to do on their vacations. Surprisingly sophisticated dining and drinking places have grown in the middle of nowhere. Well developed recreational facilities are everywhere. Still, you don’t lose that rural feel. A great mixture.
I was born here in New Hampshire. I’ve moved all over the world, but I still own a home here and enjoy coming back. Over the summer, I rent that home to visitors who want to experience the lake in a different way. My place sleeps 8 with a fully stocked kitchen, WIFI, cable TV, screen porch and full sundeck. It’s 168 steps away from a private beach, play ground and tennis court. We jokingly call it Shackistan. It’s newly renovated and perfect for large families or two families traveling together.
Mostly, I’m writing this blog to help visitors to my place find things to do. But it’s also an unbiased view of the attractions and restaurants in the area. Even if you have no plans to stay at my cottage, this is a useful tool.
Again, thanks for coming to the site. Hope you find it helpful. Feel free to add comments about your experiences.
