One of the Most Popular Attractions on the North Side.

This is a wonderful house and recreation area located in Moultonborough on the side of a mountain.  The house tour is interesting with a lot of historical facts.  The word “castle” might be a bit strong to describe the house.  It’s big and quite grand, but might not qualify as a royal residence.  What is does have is an incredible view.  The lake is spread out before the outside balcony like the greatest postcard in the world.  They also have a café here where you can have a drink and some food.  For me, the best part is the breeze.  When it’s hot down by the lake, this mountainside attraction always has a cool wind blowing.  The area also has hiking and nature walks so you can spend a nice day around the entire area.  Think they have horseback riding as well. There is an entrance fee and the hours of operation might be unexpected.  Check the Castle in the Clouds website.  From May to June, I think they are only open weekends!  Do check.
